Caravan Tour
The first Dave Matthews Band Caravan took place at Bader Field in Atlantic City, NJ on June 24th, 25th, 26th. The three-day festival featured Dave Matthews Band performing a full set each night in one of only four U.S. locales where you would of been able to catch the band that year. Joining the Caravan was an array of diverse musical talent performed on three stages.
Bader Field in Atlantic City, NJ is centrally located on the Eastern seaboard and easily accessible from such major metropolitan areas as New York City, Philadelphia and Washington DC via air, bus, car, Amtrak and New Jersey Transit. The site is located near the Atlantic City resort area which includes hotels, gaming, nightlife, fine dining, spas, pristine beaches and the city’s historic boardwalk.
The second Dave Matthews Band Caravan stop of the summer took place at Chicago’s Lakeside on July 8th-10th. Located on Chicago’s south shore of Lake Michigan, just a short distance from downtown, the Chicago stop featured a full set by headliner Dave Matthews Band each night along with a diverse line-up of artists on three different stages.
Dave Matthews Band Caravan was the first-ever event held at Lakeside, where the panoramic view of downtown Chicago across the water provided a backdrop for the festival. Attendees can easily access Lakeside by Metra train, CTA Red Line, bus, bicycle and car. There is ample onsite parking and a carpool program will be available to help connect those who would like to share a ride.
The last two stops of the DMB Caravan Comes to Governors Island and the Gorge
The Dave Matthews Band Caravan traveled to Governors Island, New York City, August 26th-28th and made its final stop of the year at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA on Labor Day Weekend, September 2nd-4th. DMB performed a headlining set each night with performances by a diverse lineup of musical talent taking place on multiple stages throughout each day.
Governors Island, a 172-acre island in the heart of New York Harbor, offers spectacular views of the New York City skyline and five miles of vehicle-free bicycle trails. The island is only 800 yards from Lower Manhattan and even closer to Brooklyn. Recently named one of America’s coolest urban parks by Travel + Leisure magazine, it will be accessible by free concert specific ferries at designated locations.
The Gorge marked Dave Matthews Band’s only West Coast performances of 2011. The Gorge Amphitheatre’s breathtaking location offers sweeping views of the Columbia River and the Columbia Gorge Canyon. It is easily accessible from such nearby metropolitan areas as Seattle, Spokane, Portland and Vancouver.
